WORDS

WORDS

Words are remarkable.
They can be short or long
plain or immensely complicated.
They can chant out songs of
infinite love or they can
carry harshness and cruelty
and trample down the last bit of
remaining hope in a lost mind.
Words, used with care and thought
will be able to build and strengthen
moral and self-confidence.
They can replace despair and anger
with the joy of hopeful happiness.

A word like beautiful,
a simple but yet so vibrant
and strong, a so all-embracing
word.

When I say to my love,
You are so beautiful.
It embraces not only
is she a joy to my eyes
but also the presence
of beauty in all her
being, in her mind.
The light within her
heart shines so bright
that when in her company
I never see the dark
shadows of past times.

Hate, a dark and strong
word that envokes feelings of
anger, it leads to disputes
and wars. History have been
a witness to this far too often.
Do I hate? When animosity
shows it’s predator like claws,
I do get angry and heartbroken.
But turning it into hate towards
my oppressor serves me little good.
I use my language and the words
of a lifetime of learning
to try to set things right.
It seems by far the
most effective way to make
the bullies stand frozen in their
own malice, not able to respond
with even more hatred.
